Neurodivergent-Affirming ADHD & Autism Assessments for Children (5+ years), Adolescents, & Adults

Hayleigh Dunne Psychology

Neurodivergent-affirming assessments take a strengths-based, supportive approach that prioritises understanding, empowerment, and respect.

Assessments are designed to provide clarity, validation, and practical understanding, while recognising neurodiversity as a natural variation of human experience. Rather than focusing solely on pathologising or deficits, the assessment aims to capture each person’s unique profile, lived experience, and context.

Assessments draw on evidence-based diagnostic frameworks, alongside tools and clinical practices that are affirming and responsive to neurodivergent presentations. Hayleigh has a particular interest in assessing diverse and often under-identified presentations of autism and ADHD, including in women, high-masking individuals, high-achieving individuals, and those with co-occurring conditions.

Assessments are available in person or via telehealth, and are intentionally structured to be accessible, respectful, and streamlined for the neurodivergent community, without compromising clinical quality or rigour.

Please note – Psychologists do not prescribe medication; if you wish to access medication, you will need to consult with a Psychiatrist or Paediatrician.

Why Pursue an ADHD and/or Autism Assessment

The focus of assessments is on understanding and supporting the whole person. Autism and ADHD assessments can help individuals and families:

  • Gain a deeper understanding of themselves and their neurotype.

  • Make sense of long-standing challenges or differences.

  • Identify strengths, support needs, and accommodations (e.g., workplace or school-based accommodations).

  • Access tailored support for daily life, learning, work, and wellbeing.
